Our Story
"After spending 20 years in a corporate manufacturing environment, I had a desire to build a manufacturing business from the ground using Australian labour in the process. The next step was to decide what to make, I wanted it to be very Australian and what is more Australian than wool, knowing that Australia had plenty of sheep and therefore no supply issue with the resource." - Graeme Kerr, Founder
...The Journey Began.
On 8th April 1996, in a small factory unit situated 45klm south west of Sydney, Wool Products Australia Pty Ltd and the Woolstar Brand was born. In only a short space of time Wool Products out grew the Ingleburn factory unit and sought larger stand - alone premises to accommodate increase in our Woolstar growth.
In only a short amount of time Wool Products moved to accommodated the increase in product demand.
Woolstar's very first range consisted of 3 products, the Woolstar Reversible Under-blanket and the Woolstar For All Seasons Quilt Set.
Graeme's goal was to build a brand that represented quality and innovation. Woolstar invested in high quality textile machines such as; fibre carding machines, high speed computerised cross lappers and high speed quilting and high speed sewing and binding machines.
This advanced technology provided Woolstar with the opportunity to focus on developing new innovative products for both the domestic and export markets.
Graeme Knows that the overseas market love Australian wool products, and he is proud to export high quality Australian made, 100% Australian wool products to various overseas customers.
Export sales continue to grow. Many products are exported globally to Asia, Europe, North and South America.
To ensure the integrity and authenticity of Woolstar's products Woolstar have acquired the Woolmark Certification and Australian Certifications.
Woolstar work closely with farmers who are committed to best animal husbandry practices. Ensuring their sheep are well fed and looked after to produce the best wool.
